It is sad when someone is trying to make a difference back home in the game of football, only to see their work go up in smoke. The work of selfish individuals with political affiliations who know nothing about football or running it for that matter. Kenya by now should be a soccer power-house in the continent of Africa. But unfortunately, that has not been the case as we have witnessed talent come and go. Even though today by far we have the best talent Kenya has ever produced in decades in the likes of Dennis Oliech, Emmanuel Ake, McDonald Mariga, Robert Mambo, Allan Wanga, we will never witness our standards in soccer grow to influence even youthful rising talent like Mugabe.... or even aspiring footballers in the high school and secondary school ranks. Why, .. It is the same all corrupt, selfish individuals running soccer back home.
Enough said, we need a fresh start from top down. Let there be new blood in the soccer governing body. People who understand the game of soccer and its management.
Second, there needs to be an effective network systems that regularily searches and nurtures new and upcoming talent across the country.
Third & final, with all due respect for Twahir Muhidin and his contributions to soccer in the country he has to go; and let Francis Kimanzi be reinstated to his post. So far he is by far the best local coach we have at the moment. ... for those who chose to differ with me just check his record.

The REFEREEE was Openly Biased against KENYA nearly all the Calls have Gone to Nigeria.
We should Learn a Great Lesson that if a Head Coach like Francis Kimanzi is doing Well like posting Excellent Wins,we shouldn't Fire Him for a Use-less German Coach.
Now lets Focus on Winning the CECAFA Cup by Trouncing Uganda in the Final.

Let's all go and cheer stars wether they win or lose, just for football's sake. The beauty of soccer is that you can watch and forget the results as soon as you want. My prediction 1:1

on saturday the players to watch for kenya will bee EMANULE AKE HE IS A good striker and was the top scorer for his club and it has been a long time without playing for harambee stars, and patrik osiako could do well for us.And now that hey is about to bee sacked i think the players are happy and ready to do there best, but the most important player will bee the fans that will give energy and motivation to the players.

Correcting below - George Owino played on the left wing on the previous senior challenge cup, not on the right. I take this opportunity to wish Harambee stars all the best. I will be watching the game in a pub as i'm in Mombasa. Will cheer like hell!!! We shall win, that i'm sure. Kenya 2 Nigeria 0.

Guys if i 'may' jump in the conversation - if you can recall all matches under Kimanzi, George Owino patnered with Edgar Ochieng on 4 & 5 respectively, then John Njoroge was on the left & Mulinge Ndeto on the right respectively. This defence went 360minutes without conceding a goal! (Except the final rounds of senior challenge in UG where George Owino played in the right). Musa wasn't there. Am not saying he's bad, i know he's been there for us, but its time to pave way for young energetic blood with 'pumzi', just like what Titus Mulama did. Furthermore, foreign coaches do not have a record in Kenya, only Eckhard Krautzun had some success in Kenya from 1971 to 1973 before he went to Canada. Ghost Mulee made Kenya lift the challenge cup after nearly a decade of draught, he delivered the first ever ACN win after beating Burkina faso 3-0, Francis Kimanzi's record speaks for itself..... Finally, my prediction, Kenya 2, Nigeria 0. All the best Harambee stars!!

@Ben, in short u want my line-up to prevail. For heavens sake Musa is the captain hawezi anza bench. I dont trust Pascal either...He messed us against Tunisia @ home & Mozambique away...
George Owino doesnt play on the right, maybe leftback. If he was good on the right then Shikanda wouldnt start for Kimanzi...Kimanzi, too, was aware that Shikanda is the best right back in Kenya.
Left back ndio kuna mambo.

I don't know where my Mind was putting Joackins Atudo in the Line-Up.
He is Kind of Slow Too as seen against Tunisia when he Left Issam Jomaa Un-Marked for an Easy Header after 35 Secs in the Match.
I like Ibrahim Shikanda attacking Skills at Right Full-Back but his Defensive Skills worries me.
Pascal Ochieng patnering Edgar Ochieng in Central Defence might be Possible but he has plenty of Cons than Pros but he is the Best Option if the Coaches decide to play George Owino at Right Full-Back.
Saturday will be a Cracker.
Nigeria thinks that they will just come to Nairobi and Harvest 3 Easy Points.
This is not the 1980's and 1990's when Kenya was Out-Matched Skillfully by Nigeria.
Now...we have a Tough,Skilled Team capable of Defeating Nigeria.
PREDICTION
KENYA 2 NIGERIA 1
TUNISIA 1 MOZAMBIQUE 0

@Disaster, I have maximum respect for ur current line-up. It can perform equally better for a noble course. I am not sure about Atudo bt he worked with Ghost b4...Also he was blamed for 2 goals against Kuwait. All in all, its a good thing that as country we have such beautiful options for saturday. It gives me alot of confidence and pride to face the d-day...I just cant wait. The team is orgasmic. My vuvuzela will melt...

Muiruri....I agree with your Comments and you have been Right in many Instances but John Njoroge will not be pulled out of the Starting Eleven.
Remember that all the Coaches on the Technical Bench Highly Rate John Njoroge.
James Sianga gave him his First International Cap...Twahir Muhidin always had him in his Squad when he was Head Coach in 2005 and Jacob Ghost Mulee was his Coach at Tusker F.C
The Person most Likely to be Benched is Musa Otieno because he is very Slow.
His Back is always behind a Fast Player and against Mozambique...he was Ball Watching as Dario Monteiro sent a Cross to Tico Tico who Tapped in an Easy Goal.
The 18 Players who will be named in the Team on Friday :
HARAMBEE STARS
Willis Ochieng
David Okello
Ibrahim Shikanda
Pascal Ochieng
George Owino
Musa Otieno
Jockins Atudo
Edgar Ochieng
John Njoroge
Patrick Osiako

Jamal Mohamed
Victor Mugabe
Emmanuel Ake
Hillary Echesa
Dennis Oliech
Patrick Oboya
John Baraza
STARTING ELEVEN

I guess my line-up will be the last to stand...Titus Mulama is out of the camp. I didnt give him a 2nd thought in all my lineups in this site. Peter Opiyo gave a man-of-the-match show in Rades, Tunisia. When people called for Kimanzi, I said Muhiddin is in a better position. When I said Osiako should be recalled, the gods co-operated and got rid of super-ego Mariga. When I said Mulee is neutral and not affiliated to any KPL club, other said he will decline coz of Jambo job...Now I say, Njoroge will not be included. If u followed last year CECAFA, Kimanzi was also driving at that. Pushing Owino to the left while trying to squeeze in Shikokoti in the middle, to aid Ochieng... Then in the future we need to bring Curtis Osano for Musa Otieno and a better winger than Oboya.
